Dental Cleanings

Dental Prophylaxis (general cleaning with possible minor extractions) is performed by appointment in Flint and Warren.

All dental cleanings are performed under general anesthesia.

If you do not see an option to book a dental once in the scheduler, it is because there are no openings currently available. Please keep checking back. Clinics are booking many months out.

  • To schedule a general dental cleaning appointment for the Warren clinic, please use the Warren online scheduler below. Choose “Warren Clinic Weekday Appointment” and then Dental. If your pet needs sterilization too, please let us know in the comments. Additional cost for sterilization.
  • To schedule a general dental cleaning appointment for the Flint clinic, use the Flint online scheduler. Choose “All About Animals” and then Dental. If your pet needs sterilization too, please let us know in the comments. Additional cost for sterilization.
  • If your pet needs more extensive dental help than a general dental cleaning/minor extractions, we can help you at our Flint Clinic with a full dental.
Full dentals with xrays start at $500 and are only available in Flint. To schedule a full dental, email flintdental@allaboutanimalsrescue.org. Full dentals are not available through the online scheduler.

Bad breath is usually the first sign of dental disease you’ll notice.
Other dental disease symptoms can be:

    • Loose teeth
    • Teeth that are discolored or covered in tartar
    • Your pet shies away from you when you touch the mouth area
    • Drooling or dropping food from the mouth
    • Bleeding from the mouth

What’s a professional cleaning anyway?

While your pet is under anesthesia, all the nasty stuff that shouldn’t be on your pet’s teeth is removed, the teeth are scaled with an ultrasonic device and then polished to prevent a quick build up tartar again. And just like you at home, daily brushing of your pet’s teeth will keep your pet’s mouth in good kissable shape.

Depending on the age and breed of your pet, you may find they need more professional cleanings during their lifetime to keep them comfortable and healthy.
