COVID-19 Surgery Check-In & Discharge

 

To maintain a safe environment for you and our staff, please adhere to the following policies and procedures. As things continue to change, please check back for procedure and service updates.

Current check in times are taking an hour. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

 

Your pet’s surgery day at the Warren or Flint location: 

  • Please clearly label all carriers/traps with the pet’s name and Shelter/Rescue/Owner’s last name. 
  • If your pet is 4 months or younger, he/she may have a small meal the morning of surgery.  If your pet is older than 4 months, no food after midnight the night before. Water should be available to all pets up until the appointment time.
  • Please wear a mask, maintain social distancing and bring a ballpoint pen with you. 
  • Please ensure your dog is leashed and their collar is snug and your cat is safely contained in a carrier (double check that the doors are secure, the top and bottom portion are appropriately attached and the bottom cannot give way).

 

Warren surgery check in:

  • Please wear a mask when interacting with staff.
  • Upon arrival to Warren, you will be greeted by a staff member, assigned a number and directed to our parking lot.
  • Once available, a staff member will help you complete your check in forms. Please bring your own pen to initial and sign the form.
  • You can elect to prepay or payment will be taken over the phone after surgery.
  • Please double check that your pet’s carrier/trap is secure beforehand. The staff member will then take your cat. If you have a dog, a technician, once available, will come retrieve your pet.
  • Current check in times are taking an hour. Check in for cats and dogs: 8 am – 9 am. Community Cats: 8 am – 10 am; 9 am to 9:30 am preferred.

 

Warren Surgery Discharge:

  • Please arrive on time for discharge and wear a mask when interacting with staff.
  • Dog discharge: 4 pm – 5 pm. Upon arrival text 586-435-1745 with:
    • Your name and the Rescue or Shelter name you are picking the pet up for
    • Make/Model/Color of your vehicle
    • Patient(s) name(s)
  • A staff member will bring the pet(s) to your vehicle, along with the checkout paperwork.
  • Cat discharge: 7 am – 7:30 am. Check out tables will be positioned by the entrance. Please maintain social distancing while in line and wear a mask at all times while outside of your vehicle.

 

Flint surgery check in:

  • Please wear a mask when interacting with staff.
  • Please maintain social distancing.
  • Please ensure your dog is leashed and their collar is snug and your cat is safely contained in a carrier (double check that the doors are secure, the top and bottom portion are appropriately attached and the bottom cannot give way).
  • Currently a limited number of individuals are allowed in the building. Please be prepared to wait in line outside.
  • During the check in process you will receive check in paperwork and be given a place to sit to complete your forms. Once completed, you may have to move to another area to wait before queuing in an additional line for your paperwork to be reviewed and pet checked in.
  • Weather permitting, please leave your dog in your vehicle during the check in process. Staff will direct you when it’s time to retrieve your dog.
  • Current check in times are taking an hour.

 

Flint Surgery Discharge:

  • Please arrive on time for discharge and wear a mask when interacting with staff.
  • Please maintain social distancing.
  • Currently a limited number of individuals are allowed in the building. Please be prepared to wait in line outside.
